Aim 23b Fakkur To Replace Aim 7e 2 Sparrows On F 14as

Iran's Aging Air Force Gets a Boost with New Missiles

AIM-23B Fakkur to Replace AIM-7E-2 Sparrows on F-14As

A Step Towards Modernization

The Iranian Air Force is set to receive a significant upgrade with the introduction of the new AIM-23B Fakkur air-to-air missile. The Fakkur will replace the aging and unreliable AIM-7E-2 Sparrow missiles currently in use on Iran's F-14A Tomcat fighter jets. The new missiles are expected to provide Iran with a significant boost in its air defense capabilities.

The AIM-23B Fakkur is a medium-range, all-weather, active radar-guided missile. It has a range of up to 60 kilometers (37 miles) and can engage targets at altitudes of up to 20,000 meters (65,000 feet). The missile is equipped with a variety of advanced features, including a digital datalink that allows it to be guided by an aircraft's radar even after launch.

The introduction of the AIM-23B Fakkur is part of a wider effort by Iran to modernize its air force. The country has also recently acquired new fighter jets, including the Russian-made Su-35 and the Chinese-made J-10C. These new aircraft, coupled with the new missiles, are expected to give Iran a significant edge in any future air conflicts.
